- Morse code is a method of transmitting text information as a series of on-off tones and lights or clicks.
- Recipient can understand the message without additional decoding equipment.
- Dits /Dahs provides the code. Dits refers to dots and dahs refer to dash.

Advantages
- Simple to use.
- Can be used by someone with disability too.
- No power required for transmission
- Narrow Bandwidth required
- Easier to filter out background noise.
Disadvantages
- Cannot be transmitted or received by any person.
- Maximum speed (20 WPM).
- Not an up-to-date technology.
History
- Samuel Morse got idea of inventing a secret code language in 1800s when he worked with an electrical telegraph system.
- In 1836 - Samuel Morse, Joseph Henry and Alfred Vail developed an electrical telegraph system.
- Morse planned to transmit only numerals at first.
- After that , Alfred Vail included letters and special characters.
