How to configure a Modem

  • These are the steps you have to follow to configure a Modem.
Step 1: Login
  • Open your default browser and type a default IP in URL and press Enter. Example 192.168.0.1.
  • Enter default username and password is admin.
    • Click OK. Now you will be on modem configuration page.
      Step 2: Click on Configuration Tab
      • Now click on Internet Connection to configure Internet on BSNL Teracom modem.
        Step 3:
        • If you have old connections, delete old connections else you can move to Step 4.
        • You can see a number of pre-configured connections on this page.
        • You should delete all of them by press delete button.
          Step 4: Add new connection
          • Now click on Add button on the bottom of the page to create a new connection.
              • Now add following parameters:
                • PVC Name: PVC0
                • VPI : 0
                • VCI : 35
                • Service Category : UBR with PCR
              • Keep all other default information and click Next.
              Step 5: Select BSNL Connection Type
              • Now select PPP Over Ethernet (PPPoE) and LLC/ SNAP and click Next.
                Step 6: Configure WAN IP Settings
                • Select the option Obtain an IP Automatically. Make sure the check boxes Enable NAT and Add Default Route are checked and click Next.
                  Step 7: Set User Name and Password
                  • Type the User Name and Password provided by BSNL. You can type the service name as BSNL Internet.
                    • By pressing Next you will reach summary page. Click on Apply.
                      Step 8: Reboot BSNL Modem
                      • Click on Admin tab and then click on Reboot.
